Hari Raya Photo Shoot

TODAY'S THE LAST DAY OF MY HARI RAYA HOLIDAY and tomorrow is the first day of work. Most people will probably be still in a Hari Raya mood which isn't really an inspiration to work harder. Tomorrow will also be one of the days where we have our makan in conjunction with Hari Raya. Many more will come in the next three weeks as different departments/sections will have their own makan.

I'm really just typing to fill this space.

Anyway, the above photos were taken a few days before Hari Raya, dubbed Hari Raya Photo Shoot. My two usual models, Hamizah Masri and Hanisah Masri, were eager to be part of it. The two new male models are A'aqiil Ahmad and Faizul Faiq Ali. Both still have a long way to go.

Selamat Hari Raya!

Transparent Monitor

I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF TAKING PHOTOS OF MY MACBOOK when it suddenly occurred to me - what if I make the monitor transparent? And the result is above.

It's not perfect yet though. It was a trial and error thing. I was determined to do more than this one photo where I ended up takng more than one anyway. Plus, I am extremely sleepy so when I get the chance to try out some more, I will.

Selamat Hari Raya!

Break Apart

FINALLY FINISHED THIS PIECE. This has been a long time in the making - on and off - not happy with how it started. In the end, I decided to create a paint effect background to give it that stormy aura look. Now, I'm very happy with how it looks like.

Also, I was determined to finish this piece by today. Why? Because today is that model's birthday. Happy birthday Zyrn!

Y'know, sometimes I wish I was in the creative business so I can just sit all day cranking up my brain to create something. But then, I went back to what I do and I realize I love doing that too. So really, photography and designing will forever stay as my hobby.

Lamb Portrait

RAMADAN IS COMING TO A CLOSE and everyone's busy preparing for Hari Raya. I actually had something else to blog about earlier today but now I can't quite remember what it was. I really need to keep a notepad with me.

The above photo was taken during one of our family sungkai events. Grilled lamb was kept in the dining room where people were passing by and everyone was admiring how gorgeous it looked. So I thought, why not take this moment and grab a group photo with the lamb before it got devoured by everybody?

That Indonesian Song

Y'KNOW WHAT SONG HAS BEEN IN MY HEAD? This indonesian song titled "Rindu Aku Rindu Kamu" by Doel Sumbang and Nini Carlina. Yeah I even went on a lyrics search just so I can figure out what the heck is going on in the song. And the lyrics are actually really cool. Check it out:

Kelap-kelip di tengah-tengah laut
Lampu perahu nelayan

Sembilan ribu bintang

Sempurna bentuk bulan

perhiasan malam

Batang-batang panjang pohon kelapa
Kerang-kerang di pasir putih
Diantara mereka kita duduk berdua
menyanyikan lagu cinta

Ya ok o.. asyiknya menikmati malam
Indah pantai indah laut suasana sunyi
Ya ok o.. asyiknya menghabiskan malam
Rindu aku rindu kamu jadi satu

Ketika tiba-tiba ombak di laut pasang
Cinta kita berdua juga pasang, sayang
Ketika tiba-tiba ombak di laut surut
Cinta kita berdua tetap… pasang

You get it?

Anyway, the above photo was taken during one of our family functions during this month of Ramadhan. I tell you, the kids are already playing firecrackers. Great time for photos though during this season. Don't forget to check out Shutter Speech on Facebook and comment on the picture!

Wedding In The Garden of Eden

I'VE BEEN WANTING TO CREATE A PHOTO MANIPULATION like this for awhile. I've seen a design like it once on a magazine cover and I figured it would be easy to create. Well, it took me about 5 to 6 hours to finish and in the end, I'm quite happy with the result.

The subject is Mrs Exclusive, photo taken by Jason, during our wedding photoshoot. Since my wife loves purple, I took a few photos, combined them together into one big purple theme. The photos I'm not quite sure who they were by. I found a disk and inside were some photos of flowers. The birds though I took from Stock Xchange and that was pretty much what I took from an online stock photo site.

I've got another project in mind but it's taking longer than I thought to finish. Hopefully, I'll be able to complete that soon. I'm just glad that I'm back with Photoshop.
