BruGamers 6 Year Celebration

BRUGAMERS IS CELEBRATING ITS SIX YEAR ANNIVERSARY this month and thanks to a member of the forum, a gathering was made possible last July 14, 2009. The full report of the night can be found here but I thought I'd copy and paste the whole article here anyway.

Thanks to DevilRoshan, we were able to celebrate our 6 year anniversary (first ever celebration!) gamers style! The whole night we spent playing a number of games while having our barbequed chicken courtesy of DevilRoshan.

During the gathering, the guys, especially HHH and KeiKun, found themselves breaking each other's armour in Soul Calibur IV as DevilRoshan found his new love in the game. DevilRoshan played Jericho as well. After dinner, DevilRoshan, zeddez, KeiKun and I found ourselves fragging each other in CoD:WAW. Fun long game. Mr DR dominated though. Then I got to try out inFamous which I have to get once I've fix my PS3.

After all that, there was Guitar Hero World Tour's Smash Hit and Metallica. KeiKun and I "strummed" to DragonForce's Through the Fire and Flames where I ended up with a cramped arm all night - but who cares? We finished the song! Though the first time we did it, we didn't do so well - our *ahem* drummer couldn't make it pass 6%? haha but an A plus for effort. After that everyone, including Reason, found ourselves playing GHWT.

We changed the pace a bit from being wannabe rockstars to ... I really have no idea. Basically, we tried to figure out how to play Noby Noby Boy. It wasn't a smart move. But we thought that was the worst. KeiKun tried out Hakuna Matata at which point zeddez fell asleep. Okay maybe he didn't - but I bet he almost did.

Oh yeah, and there was the cake! Thanks to HHH! We were all amazed and surprised! It looked great! And since DevilRoshan organised the party, we gave him the honour of blowing the candles out and cutting the cake!

It was all fun and man, we should do it again. Just for fun!

Anticipating

WENT BOWLING YESTERDAY with JuLeZz's siblings and cousins. I didn't actually play for fear that I just wasn't good enough. Okay, that's a lie. I'm actually almost broke so I was reserving what's left of what I've got for food and fuel. So I thought, I'd make use of the hang out time re-practising some photography techniques. The photos didn't turn out so well though.

In the end, the above photo is the only one that actually turned out okay. And it didn't require a great deal of effort. The quality of the above image isn't that great so click on it to see the hi-res image.

Spending time at the bowling alley though reminds me of those years when I used to play bowling a lot. I think it's time that I start playing it again and see if I still have what it takes. Anticipating for that day to come...

Mom's Golden Jubilee

IT WAS INGENIUS. First, staying at Rizqun last July 16, I told everyone to wait and gather in my grandmother's hotel room while I call my mom over for her mini birthday celebration. She never knew what was coming! (Photos when I get the chance)

Then later on that night, at Rizqun's Sutra hall, during the finale of my brother's doa kesyukuran event, I prepared a slideshow of mom's photos from the last 50 years! With some mini profile of hers too! All thanks to the help of my sister, mimi, my dad and my uncle. She was all in tears! It was unexpected!

At one point, the Golden Bar cake (pictured above planned and designed by JuLeZz and myself) almost got carried out during the wrong time but thanks to JuLeZz, she stopped it right on time! What a night it was.

And what did we get her for her 50th birthday? Well, I kind of forgot to take a photo of it. I'll ask my sister to take the photo and blog it. If you are reading this, please!!

Return of the Boy Bands

BEHOLD! Boy Bands are back! Photo taken during a short outdoor photo session during the opening of my brother's wedding events last week. Band members include the groom and my cousins. Their first song is a cover of Dulu Lain, Sekarang Lain.

The End is Nearing

THE FIVE DAY WORKSHOP AT IPA is almost over for us and it hasn't been easy for me what with trying to manage my time between the 8am-4.30pm workshop and the nightly Berjaga-jaga celebrations at home for my brother's upcoming wedding (Nikah is in a few hours!). Later on tonight, I'll have to finish our group presentation for tomorrow morning and in between all of the above, I've also been texting people at work about the well beings of our department while I'm gone. Being Head of Department is extra tiresome.

Despite all those, I have to say, I've never had this much fun at an official work workshop before. Sad to know tomorrow will be the last day.

PS: Our lecturer is not meant to know about this photo just yet - so keep it hush hush until tomorrow - if you know her of course.

Brother's berbedak Mandi

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED FOR THE MOST PART OF TODAY. The above image shows photos of people involved in today's Berbedak Mandi event for my brother's wedding. I just spent the past few hours in between eating and praying editing the above images. I wasn't happy with most of the outcome of the images so I ended up making them into a collage - which I'm happy with. Hope you like it too.

A Birthday In Wonderland

HERE ARE FOUR PEOPLE WHO LOOK LIKE THEY CAME FROM ALICE IN WONDERLAND. You figure it out why. On the other hand, these four photos were taken during a birthday celebration - or birthdays celebration where we celebrated the birthdays of four of our family members.

That was last week. The birthday boy also wrote a short description of the event.

Today begins a really long week ahead with my brother's wedding celebration and a workshop I have to attend to the whole of next week from 8.00am to 4.30pm. Can't wait for the next weekend really. Tonight, we're sleeping over at my parents' place - hope the cats are fine. Left them with extra food.

One last note before I finish, Mrs Exclusives is back to blogging.

Thinking Of Updates

I FEEL LIKE UPDATING MY PORTFOLIO as well as my galleries, which never got finished since I started shutterspeech.com. But I know that if I do this now, I won't be able to finish it. This weekend begins my brother's wedding celebration and the whole of next week I'll be at a workshop all day. So I'm not sure when but I do want to finish the whole site.

On a different story, I was going through my computer and found some of my old celestial art. The above images were made in Photoshop about 6 years ago. [Brb! This post will be continued - gotta go off somewhere]

Six Years of BruGamers

HERE'S A POST I WROTE on BruGamers.com - thought I'd just copy and paste it here since I'm too tired to write another piece on the history of BruGamers.

"Man, the new 6 year anniversary banner took me awhile to create! I just spent the past 3 hours finishing and retouching it. What do you think?

And yes, you've guessed it. BruGamers turns 6 years this July. 6 years ago, at some point, I created BruGamers via blogger. It was a one man's job back then, updating and bringing news to Bruneians. Then, as blogging started to take too much of my time, I moved BruGamers to Friendster where it got many members.

But Friendster didn't quite do it so well so I moved back to blogger and by this time, Santet was already on board. Even then, it was hard to update so we moved to Multiply, where we posted photos, news and videos. It was also a place where we exposed BruGamers to more Bruneians. Then, we decided, blogger was still a superior place to blog news - so guess what? We moved back to blogger ... again.

It was at this point where Santet and I decided to create BruGamers.com, July of 2007. And so it was decided that July was to be taken as the anniversary of BruGamers since we have no idea at what month BruGamers was actually created.

So there's a little history for you. 6 years, from a blog to online community to its own domain and space, with a forum, where we met you guys. We have come a long way from a one man blog to a full blown website with a community who shares news with others. You guys are the best!"
